ChordGrid collects nothing about you. No account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking, no advertising.
The app uses the network for exactly one thing: letting Google Play confirm that you have bought the chord unlock. There is no server on our side, and nothing else is ever sent anywhere.
Your settings. Key, mode, voicing preferences, MIDI channel and the rest are saved on your device so the app opens the way you left it. They stay on the device, they are never uploaded, and they are removed when you uninstall the app.
MIDI. ChordGrid sends note and controller messages over USB to whatever instrument or computer you connect. That data goes to your equipment and nowhere else. The app does not record what you play.
Unlocking the full set of chords — the grid’s extended families and the extended chord types in Flower mode, which are one purchase rather than two — is handled entirely by Google Play. ChordGrid never sees your payment details: the card, the billing address and the transaction are between you and Google, and the app is told nothing more than whether the unlock is active.
Google Play needs a network connection to confirm that, which is the only reason the app uses one. The result is stored on your device so the app knows what you own — and so your chords still work on a stage with no signal. Google's handling of the transaction is covered by the Google Play Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy, not by this one.
ChordGrid is a tool for musicians and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
If a future version of ChordGrid ever collects anything, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be described in the release notes rather than left here to be discovered.
